Welcome to Daysland Hospital Foundation
Daysland General Hospital Foundation is a registered charitable foundation established in 1985. Its purpose is to raise funds to enable the Daysland Health Center to both maintain and broaden the scope of services and care to patients of Daysland and the surrounding communities.
Funds raised by the Foundation are used to purchase special equipment and provide further health related education, not otherwise funded by the Department of Health.
Who benefits?
Everyone whose needs are met by our health center.
In 2009, we are concentrating our fundraising on Women’s Health. A recent development we feel will be a great asset for our patients is an improved method of endometrial ablation (form of cauterizing of the uterine endometrial cavity to reduce excessive bleeding). We hope to raise at least $20,000 for this project. As well, two more electric beds are needed.
Each disposable Novasure unit is expensive, but saves hospitalization expense and patient inconvenience, requires no incision, and allows the procedure to be done without hormonal pre-treatment. The procedure only takes minutes and can hopefully avoid the immediate need for a hysterectomy.
